Conversion vouchers assist PHAs with relocation or replacement housing needs that result from the demolition, disposition, or mandatory conversion of public housing units.
Conversion vouchers also include providing assistance to families living in other affordable housing programs for which the owner is opting out of the assistance contract, HUD is taking enforcement action against owners with project-based assistance, and affordable housing projects for which the owner is prepaying the mortgage.
Who is eligible for the program and How do I apply?
Families living in a qualifying property at the time of conversion may qualify. Families that are affected by a conversion action will automatically qualify a voucher if the family meets the program requirements.
