YOUTH PROGRAMS

Rochester Housing Authority is proud of its youth programs, which include:

After-School Program: The RHA Resident Services Department
currently provides after-school programs at Harriett Tubman Estates,Fairfield Village and Lexington Court. These programs are open year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 2:30-7:30 PM (varies by site). The community center at the Seneca Manor Townhouses also hosts an after-school program being run by Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, open 3-6 PM, Monday-Friday. These programs provide homework assistance/tutoring, computer training, health and recreational activities, field trips, etc. for youth residing in public housing.

Summer Camp: For nearly 20 years RHA has sponsored a summer youth camp to keep kids active, engaged and safe during the summer vacation from school. Anywhere from 50 to 100 children ages 5-13 attend the program that includes swimming, music, arts and crafts, physical education, computers, field trips, and themed activities. This opportunity is free of charge but fills quickly and spots are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Notice of application and registration dates is sent out in late spring.
